To know if the plug has an electricity and ready to use.
You need some components to do this small project. All is cheap stuff.
A drill, a led lamp (various color) tipically 3.5 mm Led, a resistor, solder iron, and tin lead.
Drill a hole on side or top cover of the Plug which you think is free enough to add the Led.
Hole diameter 3 - 3.5 mm depends on Led size. Secure the Led with a few Glue Gun or Glue.
Secure the wire on its place and tight enough as loosen wire can cause fire.
1 pcs LED = 3 Volt
1 pcs Resistor = R* 0.5 - 1 watts / 10%
Resistor Value Depends on Your Electricity Source.

Min - Max #Tipically (ohm)
110 Volt --> R = 35 K - 53 K 47 K
115 Volt --> R = 37 K - 56 K 47 K + 4.7 K
120 Volt --> R = 39 K - 58 K 58 K
200 Volt --> R = 65 K - 98 K 82 K
220 Volt --> R = 72 K - 108 K 100 K
240 Volt --> R = 79 K - 118 K 120 K
For Resistor Value, you can make a series or paralel.
The bigger the value - the longest Led's lifetime , more dim
The lowest the value - the shorten Led's lifetime, more bright
Led's lifetime tipically can reach 1 million hours.
Thats the cheapest tips for you, also it can detect by eyes if we don't unplug the wire yet through Led's indicator.
